RD CONGO
MAIN SECTORS OF ACTIVITY
Emergency relief, food security, protection of the rights of minorities, young people and women, technical assistance and advocacy, access to basic services
The objective is to conduct a food support and humanitarian assistance intervention in Bweremena, in the Masisi area, 54 km from the city of Goma, where the local partner NGO operates.
The intervention is particularly aimed at about 750 pygmies in extremely vulnerable conditions, who were evacuated to that region and are not reached by international aid, through preliminary contact with the local authorities and humanitarian agencies to ensure coordination of activities in the field, the identification and registration of the refugees (direct beneficiaries) and the purchase of food and basic necessities.
In collaboration with CRONGD in Kinshasa, PCN has helped set up eight Local Development Committees in districts of four municipalities of the provincial capital, Kinshasa, through which the local people have been able to monitor access to certain basic social services, such as water and electricity, in order to improve the quality of life of over one million citizens in the capital.

UONGOZI WA Maendeleo (Development Governance) – Strengthening of mechanisms for interaction and dialogue between civil society organisations, local authorities and the people of Katanga with regard to the application of the principle of subsidiarity in the process of participatory governance of the respective Decentralised Local Entities (Municipalities and Territories).
